Best time depends on the route family

Mexico and the Pacific Coast do not share one best month. Mexican Riviera and Baja travelers often compare warm-port comfort, humidity, storm exposure and marine conditions. California and Pacific Coastal travelers compare cooler air, marine layer, rain risk and repositioning availability.

Sea of Cortez routes add the strongest seasonal sensitivity because wildlife, water conditions and smaller-port operations can change the value of the trip.

Use climate as planning context, not a promise

A seasonal guide should not promise beach weather, calm seas or specific wildlife. Use broad patterns to choose clothing, shore plans and cancellation flexibility, then check current forecasts and operator notices close to departure.

For tender ports such as Cabo, Avalon, Santa Barbara, Monterey and Loreto, sea conditions matter as much as temperature. Build a shorter fallback that still works if boat or tender operations change.

Season also changes cost and crowd pressure

Holiday periods, school breaks, spring repositioning and local events can affect flights, hotels, port crowding and tour availability. Compare the whole trip cost and gateway logistics, not just the cruise fare.
