Pier 66 and Pier 91 are different trips
Bell Street Pier at Pier 66 sits on the downtown waterfront, within walking distance of Pike Place Market and the central waterfront. That makes it practical for a pre-cruise downtown stay, but walking with luggage should be judged by your own mobility, hotel location and street conditions rather than map distance alone.
Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91 is north of the downtown core in a working waterfront area. It has dedicated vehicle, shuttle and rideshare access, but it is not the terminal to approach on foot from a downtown hotel. Cruise-line assignments can change by season, so the ship name is not a permanent substitute for checking the actual pier.
Getting from SEA Airport to the terminal
The Port of Seattle lists taxis, app-based rideshare, cruise-line transfers, airport shuttles and a light-rail-plus-vehicle combination. Link light rail reaches Westlake in downtown Seattle; from there, Pier 66 is a shorter final transfer than Pier 91. Treat every published transit time as an estimate, especially on a cruise morning.
A flight arriving on embarkation day concentrates airline delay, baggage, traffic and terminal check-in into one chain. The more expensive mistake is missing final check-in, so a pre-cruise night is the more resilient plan when schedules allow.
After the cruise: luggage and flight timing
Port Valet may transfer eligible passengers’ checked luggage from the ship to SEA Airport, but eligibility depends on the current program, flight and cruise participation. Confirm onboard instead of assuming the service is available for every itinerary.
For an independent airport transfer, budget for leaving the ship, customs or immigration procedures when applicable, collecting luggage, vehicle queues and airport security. Do not derive a safe flight time from the road journey alone.
