Genoa Cruise Port Guide

Genoa can support a compact city day or a wider Ligurian trip, but first confirm that the booking really names Genoa—not Savona.

Verify Genoa, terminal and luggage chain

Stazioni Marittime manages Genoa passenger terminals, while official city information places the cruise terminal near Piazza Principe station and the historic waterfront. Homeport travelers should still follow the cruise line’s exact terminal and luggage instructions.

Savona is not another name for Genoa. Check the ticket, booking confirmation and transfer destination before reserving a hotel or vehicle.

The city is a complete port day

Porto Antico, the historic center and central Genoa can form a coherent day without a long regional transfer. Choose a compact walking circuit and account for hills, stairs and summer heat.

Portofino and other Riviera directions are separate excursion choices. Their value depends on the exact road, rail or marine transport and a return plan that does not rely on perfect conditions.

Protect the terminal re-entry

Work backward from all-aboard through the final station, pier or road pickup and terminal security. Keep the exact ship terminal available; “Genoa port” alone may be too vague for a driver or meeting point.

Re-verify for the exact call

  • Exact berth, terminal or shuttle instructions for the sailing
  • Ship time and published all-aboard time
  • Timed-entry requirements for the chosen attraction
  • Written pickup point and the complete return transport chain
  • A personal return margin beyond the advertised journey time
  • Ticketed city and exact Stazione Marittima terminal—not Savona
